bio

My life is an interesting tale of overachievement and nerdery. I’m an IT grad student at RIT, in Rochester, NY. Hence, don’t harass me during the winter, as I keep my frustration bottled up in a really small space with my summer clothes.

I’m a Grad Assistant in the database area of our department, so I spend an exorbitant amount of time in the lab, doing things like answering the same question 400 separate times. But that’s fine. The other time I spend doing my own work, which is usually way too in-depth, and drives me crazy. Occasionally, I happen upon something interesting, so I’ll try to put that up here.

Also, my house is ridiculous. Between my housemates and I, we’ve got what amounts to an enterprise network, complete with two AD domain controllers, two web servers, a MySQL, Oracle, and MS-SQL database environment, and a ton of other random supporting software. Much of this runs in Gentoo, including my laptop, so I’ll probably post about that hassle.

Also, I like astronomy. I’d like to get a camera so I can take awesome star pictures and post them here. For now, though, I’ll stick with captioned cat pictures. My IRC nick is Caturday for a reason.

Enjoy.
